Accounting & Tax FAQs: how we work

Do you offer fixed fees?

Yes. First, we confirm scope. Then we set a fixed fee based on the records involved. If anything falls outside scope, we flag it before work begins.

Are prices final?

We confirm the final fixed fee before we start, based on scope and record condition.

Do you file without my approval?

No. We share a draft first and submit only after you approve and the agreed fee is paid.

How long does it take?

It depends on record completeness and onboarding steps. Where complete records are provided and engagement, AML/KYC (where required), and agent authorisation are in place, we target submission within 5 business days. Revenue/CRO processing times are outside our control.

Do you submit before payment?

No — we submit only after approval and once the agreed fee is paid (unless agreed otherwise in writing).

Can we do this remotely?

Yes. The process is designed for remote delivery across Ireland.

Is there an in-person meeting?

In most cases it isn’t necessary. The service is designed to run efficiently via email and online workflow, with clear checklists and draft review before filing.

What years can you help with?

We can help with current and prior years. After we review your records, we’ll confirm what Revenue requires and what’s needed to proceed.

Form 12 (PAYE)

I’m PAYE. Can you help with tax refunds?

Yes. We handle PAYE Form 12 support on a fixed-fee basis (not a percentage of any refund). We’ll confirm what reliefs apply based on your situation and what documentation is needed.

Do you charge a percentage of any PAYE refund?

No. We charge a fixed fee per year for PAYE Form 12 support.

What if I’m PAYE but also have rental or self-employed income?

You may need a Form 11 instead. We’ll confirm the correct filing route after reviewing your situation.

Form 11 (self-employed / mixed income)

I’m PAYE and self-employed. Do I need Form 11?

Often yes. We’ll confirm the correct filing route after reviewing your income sources.

Can you help with prior years or late filings?

Yes. We can help with prior tax years and late returns. The fee depends on how many years and the quality of records — we’ll confirm scope and price upfront.

Can you help if my bookkeeping is behind?

In many cases, yes. We’ll confirm what we need after a quick review and agree the scope and fixed fee upfront.

Do you deal with Revenue follow-up questions?

If Revenue raises routine follow-ups related to the return we filed, we can help you respond. Anything substantial (reviews/audits/complex queries) is scoped and priced separately.

Self-assessment guidance is available on the Revenue website.

Landlords & rental income

I’m PAYE and I have rental income — can you help?

Yes. This is common and often requires Form 11. We’ll confirm the correct filing route after reviewing your income sources.

Do you handle rental schedules and Form 11?

Yes. We prepare the rental schedule and file the Form 11 where required. We confirm scope and the fixed fee before we start.

How do you decide Lite vs Plus?

It depends on the number of properties and transaction volume. We’ll confirm the correct package after reviewing your records.

What expenses can I claim against rental income?

Common allowable expenses include agent fees, repairs/maintenance, insurance, certain professional fees, and mortgage interest (subject to Revenue rules). Local Property Tax (LPT) is not deductible. We’ll review what’s applicable based on your records.

I’m a non-resident landlord — can you help with NLWT?

Yes. Where NLWT applies, we can support RN + the annual NLWT return as a pre-agreed add-on (+€150 incl. VAT). We’ll confirm scope and what records we need before starting.

Bookkeeping & VAT

Do you offer monthly bookkeeping for small businesses?

Yes. We offer monthly bookkeeping packages sized by transaction volume, with VAT returns included for retainer clients where applicable. We’ll confirm the right tier based on your volumes and requirements.

How often do you do bookkeeping?

Monthly or quarterly, depending on your package and what you need. We agree the frequency and process in advance.

What counts as a ‘line’?

A “line” is generally one bank/payment transaction processed.

Do you include VAT returns?

Yes—VAT3 and annual RTD are included for VAT-registered retainer clients within agreed scope.

Do you offer catch-up or backlog bookkeeping?

Yes. Catch-up work is quoted separately depending on volumes, complexity, and record quality. We confirm scope and the fixed fee in writing before starting.

Do you run payroll?

No — payroll is outside standard bookkeeping scope; we can quote separately if needed.

Security, documents & data

What information should I avoid sending through the website form?

Please don’t include PPSNs or ID documents in the public website form. We’ll only request documents by email after engagement is confirmed.

Can I send documents via WhatsApp?

No — we request documents by email attachment after engagement is confirmed.

Are you regulated and insured for public practice?

Regulated by Chartered Accountants Ireland for public practice in Ireland. Professional Indemnity Insurance in place.

What do you need from me to start?

Start with the quote form (or email a short summary). If you proceed, we send a checklist and engagement documents. You then provide your records by email (or another agreed method if needed) after engagement is confirmed.
